From Punat to Vis and Hvar - July 2003 From 30 Jun to 5 July The crew: Family Gobbo: Sergio as official photographer, his wife Doris and their dother Lia Gracia, my son Nick and in Primoštenu our friend Ranko Žic from Zagreb joined our expedition. Itinerary: from Punat to Vis, Hvar, Primosten Day 1 Monday morning starting from Punat, sailing south towards Cres, Trstenik, Ilovik and spending first night in a nice bay on Škarda. Day 2 Sailing towards Dugi Otok against the strong wind. Top up petrol in Sali and entered National Park Kornati. Sergio took some 'action shoots' of Fiu while Nick and I were sailing around the small island Aba M in Kornati. It was a great sailing experience and Fiu sailed really good - hope there will be few of those photos on the web soon. Lstter made a longer stop in the bay Lojena on Levrnaka - see attached photos. By the close of the day, continued south towards Primošten where we were supposed to pick up Ranko at 9 pm. Sailing was rough with the strong jugo on the nose. Doris had enough of sailing for a while! Were a bit late to Primošten, but still on time to find Ranko still awake and a couple of old friends in the Marina and had a long chat along with the few good drinks till late night. Day 3 Sailing from Primošten to Vis with the ideal, 10 to 15 kn southerly wind. Unfortunately it did not last long enough to get us all the way to Vis, some 30 NM away from Primošten. Still we had a great sailing, even got a chance to test our new, 160 m2 spinnaker. Arrived to a nice bay near the tiny island Budikovac on SE side of Vis and had a good rest, swim, diving. Ranko even manage to get enough fish for a perfect brodeto whish he prepared with the help of Doris.
Day 4 Sailing towards the town of Vis. On the way made a stopover at the lighthouse Stončica as Sergio wanted to make few photos of the Lighthose for his book on Adriatic Lighthoused. It was a worthwile visit, the lighthouse was really impressive, see attached photos. Afternoon spent in the town of Vis - wandering around the town. Incidentaly, at the same time in Vis were two famous Croatian yachts, Hir 3 and Hrvatska Čigra. Mladen Šutej, the legend of Croatian sailing was on Hrvatska Čigra. We sailed near Čigra and have a quick chat with Mladen and his guests. They liked our Grand Soleil and wished us good seas. Night spent in the bay of Rogačić. Few Photographs taken by a photographer Sergio Gobbo
Day 5 Sailing from Vis to Hvar with a good southerly wind. Arived near Pakleni otoci just on time to hide from the severe summer storm. Storm did not last long and we motored towards the town of Hvar, had a quick strol along the Hvar's promenade and moved on, towards Drvenik, Rogoznica with the final destination Marina Kremik where we arived at 9 pm. Next day clened Fiu and went back to Punat by Ranko's car. Fiu will remain in Marina Kremik for the rest of summer in the charter fleet of NCP. Back:
